MEDIA 2007 is the successor to the current 'MEDIA Plus' edition of the MEDIA Programme which comes to a close at the end of 2006. MEDIA 2007 will run from 2007-2013. The shaping of this new edition of the funding initiative has been underway since 2003, and the UK Film Council has made submissions to consultations by the European Commission and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport to help inform the development of the programme.

September 2003: Prior to the publication of its MEDIA 2007 proposals, the European Commission ran a consultation in 2003 to discuss what should be the priorities for the new edition of the MEDIA Programme. UK MEDIA Desk
The MEDIA Programme offers a wide variety of funding from the European Union for film and television, covering areas from training through development and distribution to markets, events and festivals. The UK MEDIA Desk is hosted by the UK Film Council.
